What is your booking process for weddings?
Once you send your inquiry, I will forward my pricing guide for you to take a look at. If that aligns with your expectations, then that’s when the fun really begins. We set up a call, we chat, we learn more about each other, I send a few sample galleries, you ask questions, I ask questions…it’s essentially like a wedding vendor first date.
If we hit it off and I happen to be the photographer knight in shining armour that you’ve been waiting for (it’s important to find vendors you click with…this is a big day after all!), then we’ll get the ball rolling! If you opt not to book an engagement session, then we can have a coffee date to meet in person some time in the months leading up to your wedding day.
Are you available for travel outside of the GTA or Ontario?
Yes and yes. If you are booking within Ontario, but outside of the GTA, there is a mileage fee that will be applied to your quote. If you are looking to book outside of Ontario, then travel fees will apply and can be discussed further prior to booking.
When should I book a newborn session?
Every family is different. I consider “newborn” to be anytime between 0-3 months. Some families prefer to have those fresh newborn feels and book within the first couple of weeks of arriving home from the hospital. So sleepy, so cute! Some families prefer to wait until they are better adjusted and in a bit more of a groove. This means baby will be a little more awake and interactive as well, so if that’s what you’re hoping for, then you may want to secure a date a month or two after your due date.
Either way, I take approximately 4-5 newborn sessions a month. You can book at anytime during your pregnancy, and touch base again closer to your due date or after baby makes their grand entrance.
What is your turnaround time?
For regular sessions (ie: family, maternity, newborn, etc) you can expect a 4-6 week turnaround.
For weddings you can expect a preview gallery within the first 2 weeks after the wedding. The full gallery will be delivered in approximately 3 months after the event date.
Keep in mind that I edit every session and wedding carefully and with intention so that you receive the best gallery possible. At times that may mean a little bit longer of a turnaround time, especially during busier times of year. Should that be the case, you will always be informed accordingly.
What should I wear to my session?
Always, always what you feel comfortable and confident in. The only advise I give on this is to try and coordinate your colour palette with whoever will be participating in the session ie: neutrals, pastels, jewel tones, earth tones, etc.
If you’re hoping to create movement in your photos, then dresses, skirts and looser clothing work great for this. However, if this is not your normal style, then please don’t force yourself to fit into anything that doesn’t feel 100% authentic to you. At the end of the day, the more comfortable you are, the better your photos will turn out.
It’s the human connection that is my highest priority to showcase during every session…the wardrobe is just a bonus.
I love your work, but am on a budget…what are my options?
I understand this on a soul level and adulting in a capitalist society can be challenging and exhausting. I am always looking for ways to operate my business so that both our needs are met and you deserve to have your story beautifully and artistically told regardless of your financial situation.
At this time these are the options I offer:
Mini Session Dates - These 20 minute sessions are shorter in length, but packed full of directives so that your connection is efficiently captured and you have a variety of images to choose from. I offer mini sessions on 1-2 dates each season throughout the year. Most popular are Fall and around the holidays, but Spring and Summer minis are always available as well. You can be notified of these ahead of the public and have priority booking by signing up for the newsletter here.
Mini Sessions w/Friends - If the pre-scheduled date I have released for mini sessions is not conducive to your schedule, then fear not! Grab a couple of friends to coordinate with and I will gladly come to you. If you have a group that is interested, then please inquire to see if we can work out a date, location and times. *Please note there is a 3 session minimum for this service and time slots must be booked back to back. If a studio space is preferred, then booking fees will apply.
Payment plan options - I mention this in any wedding consult I do. While I do have a preferred payment structure, there is always some flexibility where needed. Same goes for regular sessions as well. Let’s chat and see what we can do!
