One thing I’ve been incredibly grateful for over the years of shooting weddings is how the couples I get to work with tend to take an age old traditional day and make it work for them instead of trying to fit into a mould that doesn’t feel authentic to who they are. There are so many little ways throughout the course of the day that you can truly make it your own.

Whether it’s a non-traditional wedding dress like Clarissa chose, or funky bagel socks as worn by Jordan…don’t be afraid to let your voice take over and be at the forefront! It’s so easy to get caught up in what’s trending or aesthetically pleasing and of course that timeless challenge of trying to please your family in addition to yourselves. Naturally you want things to flow and look beautiful, and to make your family proud, and the good news is that there are plenty of little micro-moments that you can incorporate allowing for the best of both worlds.
