Zenia + Francis | Maternity

Every once in a while I am reminded why I love my career so much, and a big one of those reasons is having the ability to grow with couples and come along for the ride as they journey through life after marriage. You may remember Zenia and Francis from their 2019 vineyard wedding posted earlier on the blog.

When they reached out to tell me that they were expecting their first baby I was absolutely thrilled! I can’t tell you how much it means to me when previous wedding couples ask me to continue to document their major milestones. It’s like the warmest of hugs on a soul level. Sigh. :)

So we headed out to Colonel Sam Smith Park in the west end to document the maternity portion of their session package. Timing a shoot with a snowfall is not all that easy. We were just happy there was snow on the ground…bonus points that it stuck to the branches as well to give that extra textured and detail effect. Even further bonus points were unlocked when it started snowing right before our session. And boy did it snow.

By the end of it all, we were soaked, but happy and ready to head home and get nice and cosy.
